ANNOUNCE THE 2008 SUMMER LINEUP

Festival Kicks Off Friday, July 25th
at Rooftop Films

Brooklyn, NY (July 3, 2008) - New York City’s largest exhibition of the world’s best independent, professional and student animation begins Friday, July 25th and ends Sunday July 27, 2008.  The official film lineups for the jam-packed three day annual festival is available on the Animation Block Party website at www.animationblock.com.  Special guests David Schlafman and Even Sussman will give an introduction before each show and closing remarks by Adam Ansorge.  Rooftop Films will kick off with a viewing of Breakfast from Sundance, it is an extended exploration of ABP’s popular short of the same name.   Animation Block’s original production wing has teamed up with MTV to broadcast a new series based on the ABP Audience Award-Winner “Binge and Purge.” The series, titled “Perfectland,” can be found at MTV’s THINK, a social network community, http://think.mtv.com/perfectland and also on MTV’s Overdrive website.  One episode will be shown, kicking off each program at BAM.

Day 1 (Friday, July 25) –
8:00pm @ Rooftop Films in Williamsburg, Brooklyn kicks off with live music by Plushgun.
Sundance will kick off with a screening of excerpts-outtakes of Breakfast.
11:00pm @Matchless, after party featuring free beer courtesy of Radeberger and is exclusively for ABP ticket holders.

NYC based Animation Block is dedicated to exhibiting the world’s best independent, professional and student animation.  The company produces an annual multi-day festival, Animation Block Party, every last weekend of July in Brooklyn, New York.
