New York, NY (March 30, 2010) - Created and hosted by Oscar®-nominated filmmaker, Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me), FX’s most successful unscripted series, “30 Days” is making its way to home-viewing audiences. Now for the first time, presented by Virgil Films & Entertainment, the complete groundbreaking TV series will be available nationwide on a 6-disc collectible set. The show, which captivated over 2.4 million viewers each week with its innovative reality documentary-style program, was nominated for a Producer’s Guild Award for a Television Series or Special: Non-fiction, and received a GLAAD Media award for Outstanding Reality Program in 2006. The box set will be available on DVD May 18th with bonus features including Audio commentary by Morgan Spurlock.

“Its exciting for me to be working with Virgil Films to release the 30 Days Box Set,” says Morgan Spurlock. “I loved making this series and I am so glad that people can now experience and share all 18 episodes in one place.”

“Spurlock has an incredible talent of helping audiences open their eyes, and this series is a true epitome of that,” says Joe Amodei, President of Virgil Films & Entertainment. “Not only do Americans get exposure to different lifestyles and culture, but it also helps them understand each other a little bit better.”

The television series premiered on FX in 2005 to critical acclaim for placing individuals within radically different lifestyles contrary to their own culture, religion or beliefs for a total of thirty days. The Los Angeles Daily News called the series “compelling human drama” in its four-star review, while TV Guide said “30 Days” is “a million times smarter than most shows on TV.”

While Spurlock discusses relevant social issues and topics, the filmmaker also turned the cameras on himself each season. The premiere episode features Spurlock in “Minimum Wage” where he and his girlfriend experienced the struggles and hardship of everyday hardworking Americans earning minimum wage. He then went to “Jail” in the second season where he lived and was treated like an inmate under a phony sentencing. In his final season, Morgan was “Working in a Coal Mine” outside West Virginia where he endured first-hand dangers as a miner.

With episodes such as “Immigration”, “Pro-Life, Pro-Choice”, “Same Sex Parenting” and “Jail”, audiences get to see what it feels like to live in someone else’s shoes for 30 days.

“30 Days: The Complete Series” - Synopsis
The television series features a diverse group of participants, each given the opportunity to experience first-hand a world antithetical to their own comfortable existence. Each installment examines a different subject, explores topical issues and conducts fascinating social experiments. As each 30 Days participant learns about the lives and beliefs of others, viewers learn more about themselves.

The award-winning filmmaker, Morgan Spurlock received widespread critical acclaim with his debut film, Super Size Me, which received an Academy Award® nomination (Best Documentary, Features, Super Size Me, 2004). He also directed the acclaimed documentary, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? in 2008 and produced such hits as What Would Jesus Buy?, The Third Wave, and Chalk among others.
